KA student Mikayla Beames met Prince Harry at the JR yesterday. Mikayla won the Well Child Award In 2016, and Prince Harry promised to return and meet her again. Mikayla chose to wear her KAs uniform with pride - what an amazing young woman and an outstanding ambassador!

It’s official! The DfE confirms that KAs 2019 A level results are the second best in the whole county. Progress is rated as ‘well above average’ which places the academy in the top 5% of schools nationally. Truly outstanding outcomes. Congratulations to all students and staff!

A brilliant first day of Summer School with our upcoming year 7 students. Students here have been exploring how to make something complicated out of something simple, how maths can help us on journeys and why onions make us cry.

Our Reading Partner programme is running again with our trained and fully vaccinated Community Volunteers. They lead weekly interventions for students who find reading a bit challenging. We have had massive success with this programme, and we are delighted to start again.

King Alfred’s Academy will be closed today owing to snow conditions on site and the difficulty for staff driving in to school from distance. We will offer supervision for Y7 and Y8 students only on Centre Site only. No uniform for these students required today. Updates website.
