My teenager is on day 7 of 11 of his backpacking trek in the Sangre de Cristo mountains in New Mexico with his Scout troop at Philmont. I got a single “all is well” message with this photo on Wednesday. It looks like a fantastic adventure and I can’t wait to hear the stories! 😊

My internet stopped working. I power-cycled the cable modem, but it didn’t work and I noticed a periodic high pitch whine coming from it. I tried a different power supply and the problem was fixed. Curious, I put the scope on the bad supply. Whoa, that’s not right for 12V DC!!

I double-checked my logs against my audio recorder today. I will be uploading my contacts to LoTW as soon as I receive my KP2/K0FFY signing certificate, hopefully in the next 3 or 4 days. I also sent a new QSL card design off to @GotPrint for my KP2/K0FFY paper cards. 📨😁.

The last time I had worked SSB satellites prior to this week was on May 22, 2022, and I had only 24 QSOs total in 2021 and 2022. I don't think I did too shabby this past week for being so incredibly rusty!!! 😄

A big thank you to everyone who worked me as KP2/K0FFY while I was visiting St. Croix in the US Virgin Islands! I am very happy to have had the time to activate this island on satellite, and I had great fun being the DX station! This will be a very memorable trip! #amsat

Annaly Tide Pools on St. Croix, US Virgin Islands was so amazing that I took my wife back there the same day after she finished her work. I unfortunately didn’t capture a recording, but I will never forget the unique sound of the waves receding across the pebble and coral beach.

Thank you EU for the QSOs earlier today on a low pass of RS-44 from KP2/K0FFY. A clear morning at Udall Point, but barometric pressure was plummeting during the pass according to my fancy adventure watch. The wind was very strong and blew my headphones off my head mid-pass! 🏝️🛰️
