My friend's son made this for school, and it makes me cry like a babe. A thread. /1

Everyone thinks unavoidable suffering is something you overcome to receive value. The truth is there are deep psychological, emotional, physical, and social wounds. Society selects only the happy endings to show you.
There's a reason you don't know who Floyd James Thompson is, the longest serving POW and Green Beret. After just under 9 years in captivity, his life was destroyed, his wife didn't want him, and nobody acknowledged his sacrifice. He was tormented. https://t.co/osIZt1FxRb

An abomination. Reducing rights is stepping backwards.
The Supreme Court has ended constitutional protections for abortion, and 13 states already have laws that ban abortion in the event of Roe v. Wade being overturned. Another half-dozen states have near-total bans or prohibitions after 6 weeks of pregnancy. https://t.co/VTLTK7zLWk

I'm having a hard time, but I'm glad some part of me can help someone else.

You don't have to comment cause I'm not looking for Internet karma, but... I could use your mental or spiritual wishes, prayers, vibes, or whatever you believe.

Why don't you work on taking care of us first, Big Idea Guy? Oh, and the cause of school shootings instead of militarizing schools.
It is time to mobilize our retired and former service members who are willing to help secure our schools. Our schools are soft targets. They contain our most valuable possession – our children, the future of our country – and must be protected. (3/4)

Nope, those would be great assistance exercises because they are compound movements. You could always do some single set rest-pause burnouts with curls or something afterwards. Hope you like it! @70sBig

All I could ask to memorialize my friends, their families, and my losses is that you reevaluate the love and connection in your life. Cultivate it daily. And if you have true love, then hold on tight and never let it go. That would be a fitting memorial. /end

If there are people in your life who are wounded by war, give them consideration, love, affection, and connection. It's what heals. Let the love and connection permeate in all of your interactions, beliefs, and ideologies. Take care of all people in need. /4

My wounds have pushed the most important love and connection out of my life. I will never give up on healing it, but I struggle worse than in the hospital (second picture). I'm still here, no matter what. /3

After all of the death and loss, I have spent a lot of time trying to understand. The only thing that matters in this life, the most important thing to cherish and cultivate, is love and connection. 2/

Memorial Day 2022, thread Every year on this day I've tried to write something honest about the wounds caused by war. War kills people, emotions, personalities, and relationships. It destroys things in my life long after it's over.

For the record, I'm not cool or tough. I think and act quickly tactically. I always have helped kids, especially on deployment. I don't know all the details, I just wish the situation could have been different for the sake of the murdered children. It's so senseless.
I regularly ran towards gun fire. Chased a dude in the mountains and killed him. Put my body between a machine gun and a casualty. These were kids. I would have kicked the door in. I just can't believe it, my heart weeps.

I can't run at all now with my prosthetic situation and I still would have gone in.
