Barbados is a small island and was already carved up by the time these 2nd and 3rd sons were old enough. The eldest sons inherited the plantations in Barbados, and the rest had to look elsewhere. The Deep South became their frontier to reestablish the society they grew up in.

Basically, it was the second and third sons of Barbados planters who founded the Deep South starting in those cities. They arrived with capital, enslaved labor, and a blueprint for a plantation society that they learned in Barbados that they replicated here.
The traditional architecture of Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA looks very similar or downright identical to the architecture of Bridgetown, Barbados. And when you know the reason why, it all makes sense.

Good. This is absolutely necessary. I am tired of a lot of these third world accounts pretending to be American and inflaming partisanship here.

Know this history and you will know peace for why this nation is the way it is. And the dense book that this pic is from should be required reading.

@JustAFamilyMan_ Wait what? Some of my family is from Bmore, like multiple generations over near Leakin Park. Bmore people are as culturally black American as they come. Idk where he got this from.

@JustAFamilyMan_ Baltimore has way too much of a “hotep” vibe, similar to Philly, to even be accused of that.

@JustAFamilyMan_ Baltimore, DC, and PG are deep wells of generations of Black American pride I have no idea wtf they are talking about. We love our heritage.

Now this is a lie. lol No Black American from Baltimore dislike being themselves. It don’t even cross folk mind. Baltimore is a fully Black American city. Folk may not like you due to the side you from or dismiss someone from the County but that’s about it…
@draggingortrump @TylynnJ45565 Same can be said about New Yorkers. Black Americans in Bmore always seem to dislike being Black American in my opinion.

Most of the homes in my hometown are complete gut jobs. They have solid bones, but the pipes are almost a century old or they are. And the wiring is not up to code. Not to mention the LEAD.
@JustAFamilyMan_ What’s something to look out for investors looking to buy in Baltimore? It’s a hot bed for MFHs but between taxes, age of the homes, etc it seems like a market most avoid.

Not to mention in Northeast Nigeria where politicians are often seen to be in bed with BH and other militant factions.

I think it gets murky in certain regions of Nigeria like the Middle Belt. Where people within government at that level whip up religious sentiment that causes sectarian violence. And the political leader either looks the other way or owes certain factions favors.
Bill, the statement is misleading 1) The Nigerian gov is not purposely killing Christians. It's Boko Haram, Fulani militias & ISWAP (btw they kill Muslims too). 2) Most Christians are being killed in the middlebelt. The Igbo, Edo, & Yoruba Christians in the south are fine.

The joys of being a landlord in Baltimore City. Currently dealing with a leaking bathroom at my rental and just found out the main sewer stack and vent piping are deteriorating behind the walls. Whole cast iron is completed corroded.
