This, together with the work the council is planning, should go a fair way towards saving the Arch and making it a place local people can enjoy and feel proud of. We’ll keep you posted!.

In addition, we plan to add a French drain around the perimeter of the Arch to alleviate the damp that is affecting the building, due to the ground level having risen over the years.

We would also remodel the old shower block to provide accessible toilet facilities and refurbish the interior of the Arch so it can be used as a café, gallery and meeting and event space, with affordable community work space in the South Lodge.
