Also disappointed by the lack of A-Life in this game, Dumb AI Enemies just spawning behind you when the game wants is not Stalker, However great sound design and atmosphere, gunplay is mid tho but OG stalkers gunplay was ASS so its an upgrade for sure

I think Stalker 2 is another good example of how Developers slapping DLSS + Frame Generation (Butter dipped in olive oil and wiped across the screen + fake frames) to have the game run at an acceptable framerate is unacceptable in 2024, but sadly becoming mainstream.

I spent a while making a 3D version of prapor for "The Tarkov Wipe 6" And they just made him obsolete ðŸ˜

A middle ground for disabling the flea market could be a community quest where suddenly, a bit later down the wipe, we have to collectively turn on a power station, like 200k times in total. To get "power" and activate the flea market again among other things Dumb idea or nah?

There's gotta be a way to make early wipe last longer.. That's my favorite part of the wipe! I love when people have shit gear and everything is a treasure. It's great! Sad that max everything is achievable within a very short time span to some players. What do you guys think?

Thanks for reading. Just wanted to talk about this and how, today, every realistic game seems to look worse and worse (Like BF2042 vs BF1) Gray zone is an indie title using a premade engine so it's not their fault. Just a good example since its the most recent unoptimized game.

The tech is however fascinating after all since it uses algorithms to boost FPS for gamers and does it alright. But it should not be something that is forced to pretend like a game is optimized and you just have to accept the terrible blurriness and ghosting that comes with it.

A good watch about this issue: https://t.co/9brdY4KWRZ Gray Zone can't simply say "lol your specs just suck" when you need a 3080 on performance mode of DLSS (540p btw) to get 60fps (I'm probably exaggerating as I haven't bought the game lol)

A funny but also very real subreddit is r/fuckTAA https://t.co/pyOMBUJp8e A post talking about Grazy Zone and how you have to go and edit files to turn off TAA because it forces itself on. Making you not able to see shit in a game where it's very important for "optimization"

DLSS is another modern method. Better than TAA but only on Quality mode. Gray Zone requires Performance mode DLSS to hit 60FPS on 1080p with the recommended specs. Which isn't actually 1080p but actually more like 720p(or less) upscaled back up to 1080p.

Ever notice those ghosting lines after moving your 1st person model in any modern game? That's TAA doing its awesome magic of RUINING your gaming experience for slight performance gain. Common especially in Unreal Engine games as it's all new and modern

🧵Modern Anti Aliasing is killing graphics in video games. Fx: Gray Zone is trying to redeem it's doo doo ass optimization with modern AA such as DLSS and TAA anti aliasing. Making everything a blurry mess. Terrible in a shooter and you can't simply turn it off Make it stopðŸ˜

I then went in photoshop and drew masks to be activated by shapekey directly. This is different from what I used to do which was a tension map that used mesh deformation to determine when it should wrinkle. Leaving less "stylized" option.
