Learning so much these days about XRF from @EntAntony at DESY. Such a fantastic spatial resolution and beautiful maps.
Still experimenting at beamline P06 of the German Synchrotron (DESY) and interesting results are coming in, shown here is zinc in Noccaea caerulescens inflorescences.

Open PhD position on low-field NMR/MRI at our lab. Together with @V_Saggiomo and me you will work on developing low-field hardware. For more info:
Sometimes I get the question about #OpenHardware: What's next? Building an NMR? Now the answer is YES!!!! Me and @JuliaRKrug are looking for a PhD for, well, building an Open NMR :D possibly with background in electronics/physics and happy to build stuff. #NMRchat and pls RT

Finally is out, our super cheap, easy to produce in millions, almost universal, and with low waste impact nucleic acid detection (LAMP test for #COVID19) non-instrumental device. The answer is: a Nespresso capsule. The question is: why we did this? 1/n https://t.co/ZHe9JHqUcy

Our second #research methods podcast is online with as special guest the science journalist @tessalouwerens. How can we learn from her journalistic approach to focus our ideas and texts? #AcademicTwitter #scicomm
https://t.co/MTXxlmQb99
For the second #scicomm podcast of the Research Method course, @JuliaRKrug had a discussion with a science writer, Tessa Louwerens, about "how to focus". Especially for the writing part. Very informative and with some tips and tricks: https://t.co/UFR8AsKnwk

Editing the second podcast episode on focus. I had a very interesting interview with @tessalouwerens who is a science journalist on how to bring in focus when writing an article.

Our first podcast episode on creativity is on air with @V_Saggiomo
What is creativity, and why we need it in science? How to stimulate creativity? How to keep track of it? No idea, but me and @JuliaRKrug did a podcast about it :D https://t.co/c3OiL3M17x

Happy #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience. Just finished my guest lecture on MRI at a Dutch High School, thanks to a great initiative from @NNV_tweets. Inspiration for explaining the MRI principles comes as usual from my piano :)

The idea is to talk about research methods which we cannot teach step-by-step in a lecture in our new undergraduate course "Research methods in BioNanoTechnology". #science

My colleague @V_Saggiomo made amazing teaching videos (and gave all his students a chemistry box for practicals at home). If you are interested to learn more about 3D printing, microfluidics, sensors and devices, subscribe to his youtube channel
Ok tweeps, can I get close to 1000 subs on YouTube before the next year? Do what you do best: Support, Subcribe and Share :) Plan is to do more YT videos next year, mostly sciency related (obviously), but also 3D printing, microfluidics and electronics https://t.co/R9KNwQWRg3
