A patient who was intubated and sedated told me today that he heard a lot of conversations during that time. And wishes people still greeted him when entering his #ICU room. Even though he could not show a response, he wanted to be included. #MedTwitter #ICURehab #CriticalCare

As we progress in our careers, regardless of gender identity, we must work to reduce these disparities and make medicine a place for everyone to thrive. #HeForShe #WomenInMedicine

Those who identify as female face discrimination based on gender at every turn in their careers, despite a rising proportion of physicians identifying as female. We work hard to prove our worth and pay more to belong and protect ourselves in these careers.

Did you know long-term disability insurance premiums are significantly higher for females compared to males, even when controlled for age and health status?

As I move on, I hope to continue to remember this example and continue to strive to be a similar leader, peer, and learner, and inspire my teammates to be vulnerable, courageous, and enthusiastic toward teamwork and caring for our patients and communities. Thanks @mmteacherdoc !

Throughout my four years, Dr. Muntz has been always available to students, advocating for our needs, and constantly understanding and exemplifying mutual respect and true professionalism. He has been a great example of striving for excellence and giving back to learners.

My first year of medical school, @mmteacherdoc led my small group introducing speaking with patients, treating them with respect, and understanding clinical decision making. Today, during M4 capstone, Dr. Muntz sat in front of his famous red wall and spoke with us again.

The women I picked as my favorites served as role models, mentors, and a positive influence during my most challenging rotations. They showed me how to be a humble, hard working, and empathetic surgeon, and I hope I’ll be able to emulate those qualities as a resident as well

My favorite interview question this year was “Tell me about your favorite intern and senior resident.” This allowed me to reflect on the empathetic, enthusiastic, and kind residents I’ve had the privilege to know. 1/ #ThankaResidentDay

Christmas this year was visiting my grandfather through a window. This week, I was lucky enough to receive my second dose of the COVID vaccine, and my grandfather received his first. Let’s support science, wear a mask, and respect each other, so 2021 can mean holidays together.
