Alvin Vaughn, who starred for the Washington men’s basketball team in the early 1980s before a distinguished career as a firefighter and then a pastor, died Monday. He was 61.

Today I joined Mayor Harrell and the other council-member elects for an introductory press conference. Since the election has been certified, we have been working hard behind the scenes on our transition into office. Our official start date will be January 2nd. #206proud

Yes we are. All pathways to housing is important. Homeownership, Affordable Housing, First-time homebuyers, aging in place, Renters, Family Housing, Permanent Supportive Housing, Transitional Housing, Shelters, Tiny Homes and more. We all deserve a pathway.

Had the pleasure of joining a fundraiser with Ms. Lois Martin, the director of the Community Day Center for Children located in our Central District. Founded in 1963 by Lula “Mama” Martin, CDCC is an anchor in our community providing affordable childcare for families.

Big thank you to President Dr. Lane and Chancellor Rimando-Chareunsap for hosting me at the @SeattleColleges central location. We ate at their Culinary Academy on campus and the food was PHENOMENAL. Interesting Fact: Seattle Colleges is the 2nd largest college in our state.

I grew up watching Mr. Steve Pool in our living room. A homegrown hero from South Seattle, his legacy will continue to live. We will miss that signature smile... Sending love to the Pool Family this morning... His Life 👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾👇🏾
