Congratulations to Delaney O’Dea on becoming the new “Jeopardy!” champion! She attended a “Jeopardy!” taping at age seven and she even got to ask Alex Trebek a question. She asked him how old she had to be to become a contestant. This is quite the story!

She won the Best Actress Oscar for “Annie Hall” and was nominated for the same Oscar for the 2003 comedy film “Something’s Gotta Give.”

Oh, my! Diane Keaton has died at age 79! She was one fantastic actress whose career spanned over five decades. She was in classics such as “Annie Hall,” “Baby Boom,” “The First Wives Club,” and “Something’s Gotta Give.”

Congratulations to Griff Jenkins, on being named cohost of “Fox and Friends Weekend”! I was rooting for him to get a permanent anchoring job as Griff has covered all the big stories at Fox News for the last two decades.

“Blue Bayou,” her signature song, is also on the “Simple Dreams” album. The late JD Souther taught her to sing “Blue Bayou,” which was written and originally performed by Roy Orbison. JD Souther loved Roy Orbison, whom he emulated in his 1979 hit song “You’re Only Lonely.”

The lyrics were from “Poor, Poor Pitiful Me,” which Warren Zevon wrote and recorded in 1976. It later became a hit for Linda Ronstadt. Jackson Browne taught her the song as she was seeking material for her “Simple Dreams” album.

I enjoyed the “That’s Quite a Rhyme” category in the Jeopardy round. My favorite clue involved Warren Zevon lyrics. I knew that blender was the word, but the contestants didn’t.

Also, happy birthday to two of my favorite singers, Megan Moroney and Jackson Browne! Boy were we living up to the words of his classic song “Running On Empty” on his birthday last year.

One of the tornadoes narrowly missed my home. I was lucky. It was a scary day and night.

Today marks the one-year anniversary of Hurricane Milton. Even though my area was well away from the storm’s path, his impact was definitely felt here. Milton spawned a massive tornado outbreak, with over 100 tornado warnings issued that one day alone.

I think Andrew Dymburt was at the game. I thought I heard his name on TV. I miss watching him on ABC’s “World News Now.”

I did get to see the championship banner being hoisted before the game. That was quite a thrill.

The defending Stanley Cup champions have won their first game of the season! I watched most of the game, until “Jeopardy!” came on. I missed the game-winning goal. The game ended right before Final Jeopardy. I’m thrilled anyway. Go Panthers!!

This evening, my beloved Florida Panthers will begin the 2025-26 season at home in Sunrise. The championship banner will be hoisted before the game. Let’s have a great season and see if my Panthers can have a three-peat. Go Panthers!!!

Maybe the rest of the season will play out like 2024 did. In October 2024, the Gators began to show their potential in their narrow loss to Tennessee. The Gators played well the rest of the season, aside from the Texas loss. Let’s see this upswing continue.

Not only did DJ Lagway play well, but a new star was born in the Gators’ new wide receiver Dallas Wilson! In his Gators debut, Wilson scored two touchdowns and recorded over 100 yards, a feat not achieved in such a debut in some 30 years!

I can’t believe it! My unranked Gators defeated the ninth ranked Texas Longhorns in The Swamp 29-21! The Gators held the lead the whole game. Someone posted on social media a few days ago that the offense would explode (in a good way). That person was right.
