This week we mark 80 years since the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki were devastated by the first and only use of nuclear weapons in war. We honour those who lost their lives, and stand with the survivors and families who continue to bear the legacy of unimaginable suffering.

80 years ago today, the first atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima. Today, on behalf of the Australian government, I was honoured to attend the Peace Memorial Ceremony in Hiroshima – where the impact of the war is still visible.

The Albanese government is managing the sensible end of a relentlessly harmful and unnecessary trade. It’s a key reform in the interest of advancing Australia’s high-standard, sustainable, and humane agricultural sector - a reform rightly championed by the Fremantle community.
The number of live sheep exported from Australia has fallen to the lowest levels on record. Reporting this week in rural publication, Farm Online, called the trade “a twilight industry” and that “live sheep export is dying, and the trend is global.” 👀 @RSPCA @Alliance_AAFA

Fantastic to visit the Beeliar Medicare Urgent Care Cliniic with the PM @AlboMP - it’s one of the busiest of the 87 UCCs delivered by Labor, providing care when people in Fremantle and Cockburn need it.
