Congrats to Marty, Noah, Nick, John and Alex for a great summer at JRBP('O'O)! I want to especially thank my team Trevor, Sheena, Adriana and Steve and docents Jerry and Stu for their help mentoring the students!.
Congratulations to our 2024 Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve ('Ootchamin 'Ooyakma) student researchers and stewardship interns! They all worked hard this summer at Jasper Ridge on a variety of research projects ranging from ornithology, entomology, forestry, and wildlife!

Noah and Marty's experience is so exciting! I encourage you to read it and learn about "backpacks for birds!". This is one of the reasons I chose to lead a field station! To continue offering amazing opportunities outdoors just like many professors did for me a loooong time ago!.

Today the new @stanfordjrbp MOTUS station detected it's first bird - a Band-tailed pigeon (Patagioenas fasciata)! Read more about California's only native pigeon: @CaliforniaDFW.
Today our Motus station detected its first bird - a Band-tailed pigeon tagged by @CaliforniaDFW. It has been flying from Santa Cruz, stopped at/near JRBP'O'O, and is now in the Napa marsh region! Thanks to Trevor @JRWildlife for the update! See website:
