I am happy to share the news that Alberta’s registered nurses have voted to accept a four-year agreement that ensures the stability of our healthcare system and ensures that our registered nurses receive fair compensation for the crucial work they do.

Immunocompromised Albertans are now eligible for a fourth dose. Vaccines continue to be our best tool in preventing severe outcomes, and evidence has shown that immunocompromised individuals benefit from a fourth dose.

The new EMS advisory committee will inform a new provincial plan with initial recommendations by May 2022. Meanwhile, Alberta Health Services is immediately rolling out a 10-point plan to quickly add capacity to EMS. (2/2).

After receiving feedback from Albertans and education planners, our government is adjusting the implementation timelines for the new K-6 curriculum. The Curriculum Implementation Advisory group will help determine how to successfully implement the new curriculum in September.
