I'd love for Buehler to simply eliminate his four-seam. It has a 14% whiff rate and he's only gotten three more Ks with it than homers allowed. Throw nothing straight. I'd even eliminate the knuckle-curve, tbh. Throw the sweeper to lefties and increase changeup usage v. LHH.
Buehler's two best pitches this season:. Sinker: .200 BA, .215 SLG.Sweeper: .095 BA, .262 SLG. Change has a .205 xBA and .294 xSLG but the results have been bad. He really needs to simplify his arsenal, and his 4SM/CUT have gotten murdered this year.

You only get so many bullets over the course of a start. If you're constantly using weapons that don't help, simply because you *can* you will fail.

For some pitchers, it works having a million pitches. Seth Lugo and Chris Bassitt to name a couple. For Buehler, it just feels like he's overcomplicating and it's giving him no real in-game opportunity to see Bailey's plan through.

This is gonna be an all-time race. Don't discount Nate Eovaldi's candidacy either pending how the numbers shake out when he becomes eligible. Corbin Burnes won his with 167 innings pitched. Nate is at 111.
