Hi
#DisabilityTwitter
thought I’d introduce myself for those who might not know me. I’m Jonathan, my preferred name is Jono, and I have Moebius Syndrome, a rare facial difference condition. I Tweet about politics (a lot) and disability related topics. :) Nice to meet you!
Is Labor perfect? No. Am I a fan of every single one of its policies? Also no. Is Anthony Albanese perfect? Absolutely not. But I’m buoyed by an actually competent front bench and a decency not seen for some time.
I can assure the outgoing Essendon CEO that having a Christian faith is NOT ‘not tolerated’, but having homophobic views while leading an inclusive footy club IS ‘not tolerated’.
While I’m at it, equating masculinity to drinking at the pub is definitely not it. Masculinity shouldn’t be defined by how many schooners you can knock back. No wonder there’s a mental health crisis amongst young men.
Peter Dutton:
- walked out during the Apology to the Stolen Generations
- joked about Pacific nations facing climate change
- wrote 'you dirty lefties are too easy' on Twitter
... and he's still the best person to lead the Liberals?
So, let me get this straight. For three whole years, we get one version of him, but suddenly, with a whole week left of the election campaign, he suddenly pivots to Mr 'I Need to Change'?
I get that Peter Dutton is pretty disliked, but can we not attack his appearance? Been guilty in the past of this, but I want to not use it as ammo, because his policies deserve attacking far more than his face
I can see why people have been mad cause the lockdowns have sucked, buttttt we aren’t in a lockdown and the pandemic bill has more oversight than NSW’s. Go home, it’s over.
My friend told me to stop talking like a politician so much. I told them I rejected the caricature of their statement and moved that they no longer be heard.
National Cabinet meeting minutes leaked by me.
Minutes of meeting, 27/08: [All other Premiers and Chief Ministers scream at Gladys Berejiklian and Scott Morrison for two solid hours]
It’s strange, last year I was really emotionally attached to the high case numbers in VIC. Now, even though we have higher numbers than the second wave, I seem to feel more detached in a way. Anyone else feel this?
This is a

appreciation post. He is an absolute gun and is a fine representative of the electorate of Bruce and Australia as a whole. We need more politicians that take power to account and stand by their convictions. Love your work mate.
Here's the crux of the Manly thing: some are opposed to the gay community, who are just existing and not harming anyone else. And yet there's radio silence with regards to their support of gambling and alcohol, both immensely harmful to others.
I'm just not that crazy about the end of lockdown. Happy, yes, but that happiness is muted in a way. I'll just continue to keep myself safe for the next little while.
As others have noted, I find it hilarious how by attempting to do damage control, Morrison has in actuality poured petrol onto an already-aflame propane tank.
It's honestly a little sad that the nsw politicians chose to have a reopening presser at a bar. What if there are people in recovery watching that presser? Just my thought
So apparently to discuss an Indigenous Voice to Parliament and Hawthorn's allegations of shocking racism against Indigenous players,

chooses... Alan Jones? May as well bring in Andrew Bolt and Steve Price too.
The Bruce Lehrmann trial is not 'the Brittany Higgins trial'. I see the ABC fixed its headlines, but it should never have been that way in the first place.
Are we all ignoring the NSW state of emergency being extended for 2 years? It’s bad that the Vic government is amending legislation? I don’t get it

It's really disturbing actually that in 2022 we have soccer fans doing Nazi salutes and booing Welcome to Country. They should've been ejected

I'd advise people to be very careful when they say someone disabled is an 'inspiration'. We are not inspiring for simply existing. I'd rather inspire people to be better people, not just inspire people by virtue of being disabled.
