Linebackers: Attack HALF the blocker. Strike. Extend. Disengage. Then go make the play.

You find a new drill… It looks great… You steal the general setup… But it doesn’t seem to help your players. Why? Because you didn’t break it down to the BASIC points… Then build it back up to fit your system. Learn how inside THE LB LIBRARY. https://t.co/pmdSajZHtn

You know you’re coaching block destruction properly when your Linebackers stop catching blocks and start attacking them.

One detail separates good LBs from great ones. It’s not speed, size, or strength. And it’s not the feet, the hands, or even the eyes. It’s CONFIDENCE. Great Linebackers never hesitate. That’s how they make plays.

I’ve looked at this from every angle… And I truly believe the best way for a LB to read a play is with the TRIANGLE READ. (A primary read of the Offensive Line, followed by a secondary read of the Backfield.) The Offensive Line tells the story. The Backfield confirms it.

Linebackers: Game speed is different than track speed. If you want to play faster: Improve your reads. Take better angles. Study more film. Win the race to the point of attack.
