From Frogmen to Marines 🇹🇼🤝🇺🇸. Welcomed U.S. Sen. Ruben Gallego to the LY. As former special forces, we share a deep understanding of defense and regional security. We also discussed trade, tariffs, semiconductors, and closer Taiwan–U.S. ties. Together, we safeguard democracy.

Today I welcomed former Czech Speaker Markéta Pekarová Adamová to my hometown, Taichung. Over bubble tea and hot pot, we shared daily life before touring the Taichung Precision Machinery Park to see our strength in smart manufacturing. More cooperation ahead between 🇹🇼&🇨🇿!

Honored to welcome a Canadian MPs delegation led by Melissa Lantsman to the LY 🇹🇼🤝🇨🇦. From global issues to baseball diplomacy ahead of the WBC, we shared laughs and values. Taiwan & Canada will keep deepening cooperation in trade, tech, AI, and global engagement. #TaiwanCanada

Earlier this week, I had a breakfast meeting with AIT Director Raymond Greene. We discussed deepening Taiwan–U.S. cooperation on security, the economy, and technology—especially Taichung’s strengths in manufacturing, drones, and the potential to build an AI robotics hub together.

Honored to host a lunch with cross-party MPs from the Portuguese Parliament. 🇹🇼&🇵🇹 share a long history, dating back to the exclamation of “Ilha Formosa!” by Portuguese sailors 500 years ago. We had excellent exchanges on energy, immigration, low birth rates, & our shared values.

Back in Taiwan at 5:10 a.m. after a meaningful cross-party interparliamentary trip across the U.S. and Paraguay. Grateful for the warm hospitality of our overseas communities and all our partners along the way. Now heading back to Taichung to start the day. It’s good to be home.

Our 8-day U.S. and Paraguay trip wrapped up tonight at a warm gathering with nearly 170 Taiwanese in the DFW area. Thx for the incredible hospitality. Overseas Taiwanese are the bridge connecting 🇹🇼 to the world, your efforts make Taiwan seen. The LY will always be your home. ❤️

A day of meetings in Dallas with Texas leaders and visits to Taiwanese companies. Texas–Taiwan ties are growing rapidly, with strong investment on both sides, & Taiwan is now Texas’ 6th largest trading partner. We’ll continue to stand firmly behind businesses on both sides. 🇹🇼🇺🇸

Adiós, Asunción! Met Foreign Minister Ramírez as we concluded our Paraguay visit. Over four days, we engaged with more than 50 lawmakers, met our Taiwanese community, and saw the results of many cooperation projects. Hope to see our friends again very soon! Viva 🇹🇼 Viva 🇵🇾

Visited the Senate and met Speaker Núñez and 15 cross-party senators. Though it’s our first time here, the 68-year 🇹🇼 🇵🇾 friendship truly feels like coming home. Grateful to meet our overseas Taiwanese community and see how TW’s small business support programs are changing lives.

Met Pres. Peña and reaffirmed our shared commitment to democracy and a better future for our peoples. From the Polytechnic University Taiwan-Paraguay to the HIS medical project, TW’s presence is felt in every sector. Technology starts with people, and warmth brings it to life.🤝
