Happy 66th birthday to the iconic #WaltWhitmanBridge! 🎂🎈 #OnThisDay in 1957, the bridge opened to vehicular traffic. In the days leading up to the opening, pedestrians were able to walk the bridge. When it opened at 12:01 a.m., cars were lined up ready to make the ride across.
