Then I talked with a friend & he set me straight. In his other songs, Hammer talks about how tough and cool he is. So much so that we may think he doesn’t even need love. Now he’s being vulnerable & letting us know even someone as tough as The Hammer needs the feeling of love.

At first I thought Hammer was maybe trying a little too hard to convince us of his need for the feeling of love. Like he actually doesn’t need it but he knows that’s not normal so he’s trying to convince us he’s like everyone else.

This is my cover of Political Science by Randy Newman. He played it on piano, so naturally I thought I’d do it on guitar. It’s a satirical song about American foreign policy that he wrote back in 1972. You know what they say, the more things change, the more they stay the same.
