With fall baseball concluding a few weeks ago, I wanted to touch on some highlights from the last two months. Here’s what the @CliffBaseball pitching staff has been up to. (A long) Thread:

One of the best all around players in the league, ++ arm, elite baseball IQ, can play all positions, can steal bases, hit for average, and hit for power. One of my favorite players I’ve ever gotten to coach and an even better human. He will immediately make your program better!

Game 2 Gamecard goes to Frankie Stoos! He was lights out on the mound going CG SHUTOUT for 7 innings! He only gave up 3 hits and allowed 1 walk while collecting 5 punchies in only 86 pitches!

And lastly, a thank you to Coach McGlauflin for being the cog that makes this program go. The long hours, tough days, and time spent away from home become so much easier when you have a boss like him. I’m so excited to see the direction that this program is heading!

Our pitchers deserve all the credit for staying the course and never wavering in their belief to go out, execute, and give us chances to win. And to our catcher, Cade Marquardt, for being one of the best catchers in the country and bailing us out of trouble (nat. leader in CS).

Character limits are forcing me to keep these highlights broad, but the point remains that midseason improvements don’t need to come from complete overhaul. It can be as simple as making minute arsenal changes or adjustments to pitch usage, and sometimes it's no change at all.

Brock Wallace returned from a UCL repair and logged 21.2 IP with 3 saves in only his second season of being a full time pitcher. Rance Bryant returned from a season-ending thumb surgery a year ago to register 12 innings and 5 saves.
