Caught the biggest pike of my life this morning- 44 inches. Watched it come out of weeds next to me & nail topwater bait at boat in dense fog. Hard to get good pics even holding against my body. Snapped one towing my kayak around cuz I was sure I was gonna lose it without a netđȘ

Guy asked me which kind of sonar I use đ.Told him my entire arsenal consists of a kayak, pole, buzzbait, spinnerbait, rapala - every trip. Man Iâm gonna miss these buzzbait mornings when summerâs over.

Catching bass on buzzbaits is fun- but nothing compares to big northern pike coming up & smashing those things topwater. Overcast, misting, a little wind- anyone can catch fish on a morning like this. Top 3. All released as always.

Congrats to all the Ironman finishers today! I was following along on social media. Yeah I know itâs only a half IM- but I really miss it- even the vomiting after mile 130. Louisville always put on first class triathlons. Value your health. Take nothing for granted.
