I'm announcing my retirement as the Chief of the @Austin_Police with a heavy heart. I've come to this decision after a lot of thought. It has been an honor to serve this department and this wonderful community, and I know I'm leaving you in good hands.

This story was on it's way to become every parent's worst nightmare but thanks to these brave officers and their quick response to the situation, we were able to reunite the child with her family. Thank you for protecting our families everyday!

Today @Chief_Henderson and I welcomed our newest Chaplain, Ken Farmer, during a pinning ceremony. APD now has a total of 9 chaplains of varying faiths and backgrounds working to support our staff and their families. Welcome to the team, Chaplain Farmer!
