A male Red-bellied Woodpecker stops by for sunflower seeds, a peanut, and takes two dried cranberries to go. It was nice to get a visit from him, I haven’t seen him in awhile! He’s followed by a White-breasted Nuthatch who goes for the sunflower seeds.

This Great Egret had an unique style of fishing. Instead of standing still, this bird was flying and then diving head first into the lake, flying up a few feet and then diving again. I watched this bird do this several times in a row until he/she was successful with a panfish.

The King and Queen of the Boardwalk, Northern Cardinals, visit the Hand of Snacks. The King chases off a Red-winged Blackbird that gets a little close; the Blackbird later grabs a couple of peanuts and a sunflower seed before the Queen arrives.

A Bald Eagle takes off from the Great Blue Heron rookery. Lots of ducks show up around the rookery this time of year, which encourages the Bald Eagles to hang out in the area.

A male Red-winged Blackbird enjoying a bath. This spot has been a favorite of the Red-winged Blackbird for the past few weeks, there's often a bird splish splashing about in this spot.

Two Tufted Titmice visit the Hand of Snacks. At first I thought the second one grabbed an almond but it turned out to be a big peanut.

The fog made this photo quite soft, leading to a painterly quality, but I like its Fall vibes.
