The news is out…I’m delighted to share that I will be Assistant Head of the Early Years hub, I can’t wait to see what the futures holds and beyond excited to work with Early Years practitioners. I have 5 days left and I will be so sad to say goodbye to lovely colleagues.
Very proud of Miss Smith - our wonderful ECT

Very challenging times to develop your third teacher! 🌿
It takes numerous tweaks, a good cleaning routine and mutual commitment to our school values.

Great idea for an inset day, reflective practice meeting or end of any day. Could staff add their joys at anytime in the staff room

I was once sat at a station in broad daylight, 4 drunken men shouting disgusting things at me while I was waiting for my train. I was so scared, I rang my husband and he kept me calm on the phone.
I was itching to transform this pallet today! I sanded it so it’s smooth, found some resources in my garage and Art box, I added some images and media. This can be created in any class across school and it was free.

Everything she does is magic! 💙
My wonderful teaching assistant remembers everything I don’t - the lost jumper, book bag, messages and much more, she also does everything with an open heart. ❤️
What a beautiful lady x
Congratulations and well deserved award

Book of the year 2023! Thank you for being a huge inspiration and opening minds to slow pedagogy.

Miss Smith has been reflecting on her enabling environment. Ensuring children have space to develop their ideas, planning purposeful challenges and opportunities to develop children thinking.

Bargain! For those teachers in school (hopefully your not) these are great in Asda, light cream tablecloths £2.70 to back displays with. If you’re limited with natural light this colour should help, they’re huge and cut neatly.

My friend Jolene Obrien would like to share her curiosity shelf. A homely collection of old and unusual treasures to explore. I’d value this shelf in the children’s space, all children are curious and they can add their own fascinations.

A great day supporting and setting the scene for learning in Reception. We welcome our new ECT Miss Smith to Moss Park Infant School. Full of enthusiasm and motivation to create an inviting space for her children

Reception have settled so beautifully and so lovely to see their friendships forming. This week - they couldn’t wait to apply what they have been learning in letters and sounds.

I absolutely adore observing children labelling and making little letters and sounds books. Loading the table with stickers, labels and objects to explore.
Reasons to be a teacher - don’t you just love motivation from happy little people.
@MossParkInfants
A simple environment tweak can facilitate mathematical vocabulary. This week we are focusing on doubling, halving, odds and evens. Learning intentions are endless!

Looking closely at different leaf shapes, textures and shades of green. Reception classes have been building on their skills of blending charcoal and pastel. They are skilled to understand how to sketch, blend and outline independently

Sharing family stories gives children a sense of self, connection with their world and those of others. Always making opportunities to use spoken language, documented in our family learning journey

Pallet project!
You may wish to create a staff or phase library, schools are busy places, you can take a book home or leave a card for a staff member. I’ve always been a post-it fan and encourage ECT’s to help themselves

A huge thank you to Manorwood
for sharing their 3rd teacher and inspiring practice. Wonderful to hear educators connected to childhood, we have so much to learn from Manorwood,

In the space of one term I’ve moved in as phase lead, followed by new floor and pipes ripped out. Finally feeling like it’s all coming together!..so excited to develop further with an amazing committed team
@MossParkInfants
On leadership today and what a wonderful surprise! My TA and our little artist bounced in super excited to show me. ‘Blossom
Tree for you’ (5) She prefers not to sit on the carpet, she would rather be immersed in creative materials, freedom to be expressive given the time.
@shelbyamercer
I’d try not to make them too ‘themed’. There’s some beaut designs but they might not be as versatile. Roads are a great idea, covering the top with faux grass is a great idea. We chalk painted some of ours too and use Go Kart tyres as seats. We use mini ones in the small world.
We’re all set for Nick Sharrats workshop this term, and what an amazing text to ignite children’s imagination. Our children are super excited to meet you

Had an amazing term and a half working with co teacher Miss Davies. Teaching from the heart 💕reflecting and developing her provision.

A few tweaks and enhancements to extend Receptions interest in Forests. We can even smell the characters in this text. The Tin Forest

Reception have been using different media. Painting branches on baking paper, then using charcoal to outline the trees.

Developing a pedagogy of listening is about connecting with children’s right to be heard, their thoughts and fascinations. Are we providing awe and wonder in an enabling environment and are we tuning in? Article 12
