Can’t we just employ a few thousand people on proper contracts and wages to clean our streets, parks and rivers properly? Not outsourced, not volunteers. A proper job a fella can live off. Like we used to when we were a society.

Is there a logical reason why Constitution Hill will be any good on the flat?

One of several tweets from me when Iroko was a juvenile hoping they’d go down the staying route with Iroko
Real test of the form of PF Nicholls tomorrow. Got a few including Iceo/Pic Dorhy back running under their optimum conditions again after running in v unsuitable races. The reverse could be said of JP McManus’s Iroko, who you’d think would hate tomorrow’s speed test.

Pic D’orhy is still going and so am I!
BTW, Pic D'Orhy leads and jumps. If he takes to UK hurdles, and OK its a reasonable not a big if, a proper juvenile will need to be proper good to pass. Also, ignore very soft going crap tho - it doesnt equate at all to UK scales. His best form so far is on UK good going.

If anyone new would like to see last years, let me know and I’ll send next week.

It’s that time of the year again. Cheltenham sheets with speed figs, comments, tissue & all the annual nonsense are being prepped. As every year, ante post sheets for the G1s go out end of Feb with the full sheets at final decs stage. £20 as every year. Any ques, just shout.

week and water was pumped off. I can only assume it was pumped off the course to the perimeter and some has seeped back on the outside line nullifying the natural bias?

Kinturk Kalanisi, Ile Atlantique, Solness, Marine Nat, Final Demand, Galopin de Champ stayed wide throughout. Gaelic Warrior, to his credit, went hare rail down the back but crucially switched inner on the bend. so why did the bias reverse. The chase course was under water all

gains quickly. Romeo Coolio was beaten but railed Kargese & run her down in strides. Backmersackme looked stuffed til he went inner down the back. Fact to File (innermost) & Gaelic Warrior (who'd been wide) shot through on the inner whilst those kept widest faltered.

The fav for every chase bar two stuck to outer and all lost and lost badly. The exceptions were Jacobs Ladder's race where only a few rags stayed wide & the field stayed middle anyway. Kargese was other but that's interesting too. Horses who went inner on the last bend made big

the chases at the DRF. Jockeys on many of the fancied horses did the logical thing and went as wide as possible down the back and on the bends. It usually works especially in the wet. However, watching the replays I felt I was watching the same race over with different silks.

Leopardstown bias? Last week I watched the hurdles from Catterick and every raced followed the same pattern. The horse against the near rail looked beaten before finding extra from nowhere on the run in to fight back & win. Every race the same. I got the same deja vu watching

How did Peter Mandelson survive decades of scrutiny from our fearless fourth estate? It's a real mystery.

Just done my figs from the last DRF & again underwhelming. Fact to File obviously was an exception - a top class 92 on my scale. The problem is he's hit that level twice before for me - the John Durkan (91) & last year's Ryanair (90). He was well beaten within 6 weeks each time

It turns out Peter Mandelson is a corrupt liar. If only there’d been clues! I don’t know what to believe anymore.

The most impressive thing abt Narciso Has is that he should be a 3m chaser.

Lovely effort by Madara (without pieces) at Kempton whilst we were all watching Leopardstown. Only thing is I'm not sure why he didn't finish 4th and go down 2lb?

Of course there is also another element. A G2 novice will beat a 100 handicapper roughly by 5secs (10secs for 2m) per mile. 40/50 lengths. However, if the handicapper tries to challenge said G2 novice early, he will not finish. He will pull up halfway.
There can't be a greater range of talent than the modern maiden hurdles in Ireland. You regularly have a probable graded horse at one end and actual pets (who will never win at the other). That's a 5 to 7 secs per mile difference in ability. The rags can 'try' all they want.

So the people who governed the country for the last 20 years now say the country has gone to pot due to them But if you vote for them now (under a new rosette) theyll fix the things they did wrong by doing the same things again, just a more radical version I think I understand.
