I am at the Overshoot Conference addressing exceedance of 1.5ºC warming hosted by @IIASAVienna in Austria. My keynote address at the opening highlighted how @IPCC_CH will be approaching this topic and related themes covered at the conference in our next assessment.

It was a full house for my lecture @HelsinkiUni with a focus on what science is telling us about #ClimateChange and the tools available to reduce emissions. I also had the pleasure to meet with Uni’s Chancellor @KaarleHameri.

I enjoyed an excellent conversation with Finnish parliamentarians after my @IPCC_CH briefing on our plans for the seventh cycle. We covered the importance of the land use sector in reaching #NetZero, how to define 1.5°C warming, and the link between climate & biodiversity.

In Helsinki today - it was a pleasure to have an engaging discussion with the Finnish Minister of Environment & Climate @SariMultala, Petteri Taalas Director General of @Meteorologit, as well as Juhani Damski and Kaarle Kupiainen, @yministerio.

In New Delhi this week following the @IPCC_CH 62nd Plenary in Hangzhou. It was a pleasure to meet with H.E. Marina Silva, Minister of the Environment and Climate Change of Brazil. We had a good discussion on the key outcomes of the #IPCC 62nd Session and spoke about #COP30.

Addressing #IPCC symposium “Bridging Climate Science and Policy to Accelerate Action” this morning in Kuala Lumpur, my keynote presentation focused on IPCC’s key scientific findings of the Sixth Assessment Report and how they relate to the three goals of the Paris Agreement.

Ahead of today’s climate science symposium in Kuala Lumpur organised by @UKinMalaysia, together with my #IPCC colleague WGIII Co-Chair Joy Pereira, I met with Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Nik Nazmi bin Nik Ahmad & David Wallace of BHC in KL.

The Pact for the Future has been adopted at @UN HQ in NYC. We welcome the reflection of many @IPCC_CH scientific findings in the Pact, including to “accelerate the reform of the international financial architecture so that it can meet the urgent challenge of #climatechange.”

Speaking as @IPCC_CH Chair, it was great to join @IPBES Chair David Obura this week to kick off a new event series by @SEIResearch on how nature and climate strategies can help meet #GlobalGoals.
