I enjoyed an excellent conversation with Finnish parliamentarians after my @IPCC_CH briefing on our plans for the seventh cycle. We covered the importance of the land use sector in reaching #NetZero, how to define 1.5°C warming, and the link between climate & biodiversity.

Addressing #IPCC symposium “Bridging Climate Science and Policy to Accelerate Action” this morning in Kuala Lumpur, my keynote presentation focused on IPCC’s key scientific findings of the Sixth Assessment Report and how they relate to the three goals of the Paris Agreement.

Ahead of today’s climate science symposium in Kuala Lumpur organised by @UKinMalaysia, together with my #IPCC colleague WGIII Co-Chair Joy Pereira, I met with Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Nik Nazmi bin Nik Ahmad & David Wallace of BHC in KL.

The Pact for the Future has been adopted at @UN HQ in NYC. We welcome the reflection of many @IPCC_CH scientific findings in the Pact, including to “accelerate the reform of the international financial architecture so that it can meet the urgent challenge of #climatechange.”.

Speaking as @IPCC_CH Chair, it was great to join @IPBES Chair David Obura this week to kick off a new event series by @SEIResearch on how nature and climate strategies can help meet #GlobalGoals.
