Mutual aid is here! 💪 Over 200 crews from neighboring utilities are staging in Austin. With more hands and trucks on the ground, power restoration efforts will ramp up as crews are briefed and begin working alongside Austin Energy teams. We’re grateful for their help.

Austinites - do you know how tropical storms get their names? And how long those names last? Names are recycled every 6 years unless the storm causes enough of an impact…Then that name is retired. Find more info at 👍.
The WMO Hurricane Committee has retired the names Beryl, Helene and Milton from its Atlantic basin name list and John from the eastern Pacific basin name list because of the death and destruction these storms caused in 2024.

During my morning flight today I didn’t expect to witness ✌️separate in-flight medical emergencies play out right in front of me. Kudos to the @SouthwestAir crew for their quick responses, and 👏👏 to the PA passenger who tended to both!! 👼.

Penalty! ESPN faces a proposed FCC fine for using an emergency alert tone in a promo ad. Using this tone is out of bounds - it's a public safety hazard to confuse or desensitize viewers to actual emergency alerts. As the refs for these important systems, we made the call.

Fellow @ODU Monarchs: Be mindful of the 4.9' high tide expected to peak at 11am Saturday before the game. This level of flooding impacts Hampton Blvd, the WHRO parking lot and btwn 48th and 49th St. Don't drive or play in flood waters! . Go Blue!!! 🏈🦁🙌
