Today I am 5 years sober and I also had to bury my friend who died of brain cancer. Although not related, I will say that my sobriety allows me to handle really fucking horrible and hard situations much better. It stands that sobriety is cool and friends dying is not.

Our sweet angel Ben passed away this morning. Even when you kind of know it’s coming, it still sucks. I already miss him.
One of our besties has glioblastoma and it’s a stupid form of terminal brain cancer. I hate it and I love him. Reminder to make time for your friends, take time off to see them, sign off and make plans, love them hard.
