I’ve had an idea. As we know, Clinical Psychology (and psychology in general) still continues to hold a strong white, middle class identity… (1/6)

Still so happy from submitting my thesis last week ☀️ & eternally grateful to everyone involved. Tried to stay authentic throughout…from consent forms to data collection & the Black feminist literature which shaped the whole thing. Next we aim to publish & get the word out!

PLEASE RT- I need to speak to ONE more practitioner working with/having previously supported Black YW & girls in a community-based/ grassroots capacity! Interviews are held online, up to 60 minutes, with 1-2 other practitioners from across orgs. They've been beautiful so far!

We live on a planet where food literally grows on trees, & water falls from the sky, but instead of cooperating in solidarity & mutual aid, so we can all enjoy this earthly paradise, we decided to create things like the 8 hour work day, credit scores, & school lunch debt.

The last day of teaching pretty much summed up my doctorate journey so far. By far the best part has been meeting such precious angels along the way. Stressed but grateful! We got this!

There is scope for young people’s spaces to happen online too (if preferred), will just need to think with orgs about making sure they have access

Just FYI, I’m happy (and was assuming I would) travel to organisation spaces to meet young people, as long as that works for everyone. I can also do this as many times as necessary ahead of the focus group sessions to build relationships. Practitioner spaces will be held online.
@EverSoJones Thank you for your question! I would come to the organisation (provided that works for you!). Happy to come along to build relationships ahead of the session too, if helpful.

I also often wish we knew more about the criminalisation that follows for Black young people who are missing, then found. I have seen parents report their child missing to the police, for them to come home, and it be a choice they wish they hadn’t made because of what follows.
The amount of children missing in London is so frightening. They disappear for days or weeks and then are found (thank goodness). But what puzzles me is we never hear about where they have been, who had them (if that is the case) or what they were doing.

This is really really sad man 😢💔 Such an important cultural hub in Brixton…. I’ve watched so many of my favourite places I’ve DJd at disappear. We need to have a conversation on what Cultural Protection means and looks like in London.

Every homeless person suffers the effects of chronic sleep deprivation, yet certain factions of society expect perfectly comported, calm, rational behaviour from homeless people at all times, or they should be locked up.
