For people who are learning prompt engineering to leverage powerful large language models (LLM) like ChatGPT, use the the "genius in a room" mental model when crafting your questions/prompts.

The unlock might surprise many. Fully agree - if you had use cases that you thought was too smart, too complicated, too nuance for the model -- try again.
o1-preview and o1-mini are here. they're by far our best models at reasoning, and we believe they will unlock wholly new use cases in the api. if you had a product idea that was just a little too early, and the models were just not quite smart enough -- try again.

guide drop: 7 ways to optimize latency for your LLM application. a good checklist to run through before taking on higher-lift actions to improve performance.
there's (exactly) seven ways to optimize latency in an llm application – just published a guide in the @openai docs that covers them!. go check it out! (and let me know what you think).- link 👇-.

sprinting with @jeffintime and the brilliant team, i've been reminded that so much of a person's identity can be tied with their ability to communicate. this has the potential to create meaningful quality-of-life changes for many: from being able to restore a patient's voice.
We're sharing our learnings from a small-scale preview of Voice Engine, a model which uses text input and a single 15-second audio sample to generate natural-sounding speech that closely resembles the original speaker.

Start to see these design patterns in the wild - planning, tool use, reflection/evaluation along with an orchestration layer. It also gets interesting when memory is added to the mix.
I think AI agentic workflows will drive massive AI progress this year — perhaps even more than the next generation of foundation models. This is an important trend, and I urge everyone who works in AI to pay attention to it. Today, we mostly use LLMs in zero-shot mode, prompting

Happy birthday GPT4 ❤️. The story continues to be the friends we made along the way, from @jiangelaa (and so many others) to working with Khan Academy, Duolingo, BeMyEyes, to many more who are just as passionate about the potential future. It's been a humbling year. Now.

Step 1. Build the thing .Step 2. Build the ramp.
# on technical accessibility. One interesting observation I think back to often:.- when I first published the micrograd repo, it got some traction on GitHub but then somewhat stagnated and it didn't seem that people cared much. - then I made the video building it from scratch,.

ChatGPT is now available for all free users. Take it out for a spin 🚶🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️. Also for iOS users who are into Shortcut automations, know that you can trigger ChatGPT there as well 🙂.
1/10 OpenAi announced that their ChatGPT with Voice is available to all free users. 📢. I have to tell you, I have been using this in ChatGPT Plus over the last month, which is amazing. 😍. Let me tell you how I use it as a Tool for Thought. 💡.
