Speaking at Lord Mayor’s banquet tonight Sunak quoted Yeats: “The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere, the ceremony of innocence is drowned…” Poets on here will know this is The Second Coming, which also includes the line: “Things fall apart, the centre cannot hold.” 👀
