This is how I will remember Tony. Smooth as silk, graceful, giving, joyous, focused, and always someone you can count on not just in baseball but in life. Just an all around sincere person. Gone way too soon!!
I just talked to Tony’s wife Clara and his vitals are improving. His heart is getting stronger and they were able to get fluid off his lungs as well. She said Tony is a fighter! So please keep praying for him. And she asked me to thank ALL of you for her!
This was a photo of my mom Annie Barfield from my graduation night in 1977. She was a beautiful woman and a loving mother! She did a great job raising 4 children on her own. We lay her to rest next Wednesday. RIP ma, we are going to miss you greatly! ❤️🙏🏽❤️

I just saw the entire tribute, and it made me even prouder than ever to be a part of this great organization over the years. I share the tears of joy with Jose and I feel your sincere gratitude for your great honor in front of all the great Jays fans! Just a great tribute! 👍🏽🙏🏽👊🏽
Thank you to the
@BlueJays

Today is our 39th Wedding Anniversary. We got married in Toronto at Queensway Cathedral, and it was a small wedding but there was nothing small about that day because it change my life for the better. You
@MBarfielddesign
have been there for me and our family! I Love You!
Marla had just had our daughter Jessica at Mount Sinai hospital in Toronto 🇨🇦 I came straight from the game. That’s our oldest son Joshua, you all know him as Josh. We just wanted to share this important moment with all of our Twitter Family. Happy New Year from the Barfield’s.
Congratulations to the Bichette family! I remember how Marla and I felt when we saw Josh’s 1st game in MLB. We both felt an overwhelming gratitude and pride because we realize how hard he worked to put himself in position to make it. We wish you all the best Bo, The Barfield’s
To all my family, friends, and fans out there in Twitter-land. I’m recovering nicely from left hip replacement surgery back on October 1st of this year. Well, I need you to🙏🏽pray for me again as I go in tomorrow for right hip replacement surgery. I appreciate ALL of you! Jesse.
I had successful knee replacement yesterday and I’m home recuperating right now. Thank you for your continued prayers for a speedy recovery and no setbacks! I’m in great hands with Marla, I had a great night sleep last night! I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress! 👍🏽🙏🏽👊🏽
Words cannot express how much we all miss Tony Fernandez! He was more than a FANTASTIC baseball player, he was an AMAZING teammate and an even better person! Gone too soon!!

Happy Heavenly Birthday to my dear brother and teammate Tony Fernandez. I Love you, and miss you greatly. I miss his wisdom, his passion to help others, and our great conversations! RIP 🙏🏽👍🏽👊🏽
Today I graduated from the walker to the cane! This is a big step in the right direction because after that I start walking normal and I can start weight training and building up my entire body again! Thank you for all your prayers and support!👍🏽🙏🏽👊🏽
First off I want to say how proud I am of this years team and all the thrills they gave us especially having to go thru all they went thru due to Covid-19. I can only imagine how difficult that was on them and their families. And they still almost pulled it off! Much Respect!!
When Cito Gaston came to me and said that I needed better timing and rhythm and a better approach it changed my life. Because of his amazing guidance we were able to hit to all fields with more power and consistency. Cito has one of the smartest baseball minds in baseball ever!!
It’ll be official this Saturday, I will be inducted into the Canadian Baseball Hall Of Fame. Now it’s complete, all 3 of us are in now! Words can’t express how happy and honored I am to be a part of this great legacy. I’ll be on MLB Network tomorrow at 5:30pm EST discussing it!🙏🏽
RIP “Hammer” We lost a great player, and person today and I’m saddened by his loss. Our hitting coach Cito Gaston was his roommate in Atlanta and would share some incredible stories about his wisdom, and he passed some of it on to us as young hitters and I am forever grateful🙏🏽❤️
Man, I know my friends down here in Houston are upset about this and I understand why because George Springer is going to make a huge impact on this
@BlueJays
lineup!
I’m honored to do the draft for the
@BlueJays
next Sunday in Denver. The last time I did it I got to announce Bo Bichette! What a great thrill that was!
Thank you
@BlueJays
for the invite to represent us during this year‘s draft. I had a blast hanging out with all of the former players and all the young men who were there. I wish all of them the very best in this next chapter in their life. Much success to all of them!!
This is why I’ve asked asked our fans to please be patient with these kids and give them a chance to develop, because the finished product is going to be something to behold for many years to come for these young
@BlueJays
players!
Well deserved! I’m so very happy for Larry and his family, I’m not surprised he got in at all. I’m surprise that it took so long to get him in! He was a tremendous ballplayer both offensively and defensively!
Well, we are finally here! The most important game of the season thus far. We all realize what’s at stake today and these kids know what they have to do to be successful! The entire baseball world will be watching. These kids were built for this moment. ALL The Best Guys!!!🙏🏽👊🏽👍🏽
I love the way this
@BlueJays
team have started to make adjustments in their approach at the plate. And because of it they are starting to produce more at the plate. Good for them!!
It’s been 7 days since undergoing hip replacement surgery and I feel good. I’m doing my part by exercising several times a day, and walking as much as I possibly can around the house. Marla has been a Godsend for me! Please keep me in your🙏🏽prayers and I will keep you guys posted
I was sitting at my locker one day in Toronto and one of my teammates came up to me and said Dick Allen is in the visitors dugout smoking a cigarette. I jumped up ran to the bat room and grabbed one of my Cooper bats, sanded my name off of it so that he could autograph it for me!
This is a Big day for me because I am off the walker, and the cane! Now I get to step up my physical therapy and I’ll introduce some light weight training along with more stretching. Thanks for continuing to pray for me for a full recovery. It’s just a matter of time now!!👍🏽🙏🏽👊🏽
These young
@BlueJays
kids are amazing!! We got home late last night so we missed that amazing comeback. I love their never say die attitude. Wow! Keep it up guys, we are so proud of you!!
Well deserved!! These are moments you never forget! All the best to you guys. Continue to play hard and smart. 1 game at a time, 1 situation at a time, and 1 pitch at a time! Enjoy every moment!! We will be watching and cheering you on! I feel like a proud uncle!
I just want you guys to know that I think about you often and I know you are still going through a tough time up there in Canada 🇨🇦 because of COVID-19. We pray for you daily and we will continue to lift you up! I love you, and we miss you, stay strong 🙏🏽👊🏽👍🏽 Jesse.
Yesterday was our 37th anniversary. And people ask me all the time what’s the secret to staying married to one person for so long. 1. God 2. Respect 3. Let your mate be right even if you know they are wrong. Do you want to be right, or do you want PEACE. 4. Laughter!!
This photo says it all! The respect that we had for each other was and still is genuine! I’ve heard people say team chemistry is overrated, I strongly disagree with them. We had so many team leaders it was unbelievable. And most of us became coaches, managers, and mentors today!
"Buck is like family to all of us here, as he actually may be to you based on how many times you hear his voice."
@SNETCampbell
and
@SiddallJoe
show their support and encouragement for Buck. 💙
