The Year 7 Girls football team won the U12 league on Wednesday night. All girls have performed extremely well over the season and still have all to play for this season in the cups. Well done!

A group of Year 12 students have started to volunteer with Vinnie's in Byker. Vinnie's is a Centre for people in the community requiring help and support be it if they are homeless, refugees or in need of company. We are very proud that our students have been helping out!

Congratulations to Amelie in Year 9 who was the regional winner of the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators with her translation of a poem from Mandarin to English. This is a fantastic achievement as there were over 3,200 submissions from more than 260 schools!

Anahita produced a fantastic translation of a poem in Mandarin Chinese and came 2nd in the Anthea Bell Prize for Young Translators, a national translation competition run by Oxford University. Huge congratulations and well done! She is a brilliant 学生!

Jesmond Park Academy won the Girls’ Year 7 Newcastle City Schools 5 aside football tournament. They won all 5 of their games with scorers Georgia 8 goals, Maria 3 goals and Caitlin 5 goals throughout the tournament. Well done to all the girls who took part.

English Schools Athletics – JPA student Calum has been selected to represent Northumberland at the English Schools Athletics Championship in Birmingham on the 29th and 30th of June. He will be competing in the Junior Boys Triple Jump having won the inter-counties last week!

Year 7s from our Accelerated Reader classes have had fantastic results since starting at JPA. Over 100 students have raised their reading age by more than a year in just 3 months, with some improving by 2, 3 or 4 years. Top performers received certificates from Mr Campbell.

Summer School 2022 was a huge success, with many of our incoming Yr7 students spending a week at JPA making new friends, meeting teachers & becoming accustomed to their new learning environment. They spent the week in teams & created banners to represent their diversity.

JPA school choir were invited to Heaton Park on the 25th June as part of the Heaton Festival. The choir put on a fabulous performance including solos from Axel, Bean, Narrissa, Elsa, Larissa, Irini, Emma, Joe, Hannah and Florrie. They were all very well supported by the crowd!

Sports update - On Tuesday, our Yr8 girls football team played the last of their 7-a-side league games. They beat RGS 1-0, NHSG 2-1 and drew 2-2 with Walker. They have remained unbeaten through all of their games and as result, have qualified for the finals night next year!!

On Wednesday 19th November, our U13 football team played their first game of the season in the Newcastle City Cup. The team put on a solid display, winning 6-0 against Walker Riverside Academy. There were goals from all over the pitch and some excellent debut performances!
