President Trump just slammed U.S. @SenSchumer for questioning his administration's response to Texas floods and weather cuts to National Weather Service affected alerts. "I saw that stupid guy try to blame it on me, and I said 'man, that's a tough one to take.'"

Texas is the No. 1 producer of wind energy in Texas, but President Trump just used his cabinet meeting to dump on it as he promoted coal and natural gas. "We don't want wind," he said. "And we don't want solar because they are a blight on our country."

Biden similarly made his 1st official visit to Texas as president during crisis. About a month after his inauguration, he was in Houston after the winter storms that killed hundreds and left millions without power.

This is key role for presidents: comforter-in-chief role. During Trump's 1st term, he made trips to Texas for Harvey, on another trip met with families from Santa Fe, one trip was to El Paso after that horrific shooting & then in 2020 he was in SE Texas after Hurricane Laura.

Here's what I know about President Trump's expected trip to Texas, which probably will be Fri. As I get more details I'll share. Sad that his 1st trip this term to Texas will be like during his last term when his 1st trip was after Hurricane Harvey hit.

To be fair, a few have turned the donation requests into links to donate to Kerr County victims. That seems far more appropriate.

Am I being too sensitive? Or should Texas politicians chill on sending out fundraising appeals for a few days? Seems really jarring to see a campaign pitch among the statements of remorse and heartbreak.
