Remember when they said we need state tests & report cards because otherwise teachers & principals would slack off? Well, testing & state report cards are canceled and all I see are teachers & principals working harder than ever before. Let’s trust our professionals.

A5: I would like some sort of goal for our school or district to work toward (percent of student engagement or something similar). This would give us something to work toward together and something to celebrate. #remotelearning #WEareLakota

A4 Our schools have innovation specialists who have been holding office hours twice a day. They have answered almost all of my tech questions and helped me to think about my teaching process. I love stopping in just to see my peers! #remotelearning #WEareLakota

A3 Another challenge ... forcing myself to step away from my computer and take a break from work. When a student e-mails me at 10pm, I want to help them immediately. I need to make sure I take care of my own mental health first and foremost. #remotelearning #WEareLakota

A3: Teachers are being forced to look at learning from the students' perspectives. We have to be flexible and adapt with a student's barriers and distractions in mind. #remotelearning #WEareLakota

Help me understand this ONE Venn diagram in my first year teaching and I would have been 10x more effective. This one right here.

I am bored when I do the same things in my class every year. I love taking risks w/ new teaching methods & encouraging my students to do the same w/ their learning. I motivate my students by genuinely caring about them and their well-being. #WEareLakota #DLDay #LakotaLearningDay

I enjoy taking risks in my classroom, but sometimes feel that I am not supported by my peers. I think that we, as educators get caught up in what is working in our own classrooms and do not know how to support each other's successes. #LakotaEdChat

A6 - My co-teacher, Scott Rooks, has had a rough year w/ family issues. But he comes to school every day ready to focus on our kids. He is able to anticipate emotional/behavioral blow-ups before I can seem them coming, and I would rank empathy as one of my strengths.
Q6 - As we reflect on 2019, take a moment to shout-out and celebrate an accomplishment of a colleague or friend. Dare to Lead pg. 84 @BreneBrown #WEareDARING #LakotaEdChat

I am always impressed when students stay after class to tell me about an issue another student may be dealing with. They know the student needs help and don't know how to give them what they need. #LakotaEdChat

We can all stand to have a little more empathy in our daily interactions. Think about how you can grow your empathy muscles, Q5 is coming in 1 minute.#LakotaEdChat

Sometimes, I just need to know that I am "seen" by someone that I care about. To be acknowledged by someone I respect, helps me to take risks and overcome obstacles. #LakotaEdChat
Q4 - When you are struggling with something, what do you need from your squad to enable you to take risks and show up? Dare to Lead pg. 136 @BreneBrown #WEareDARING #LakotaEdChat
