Jesus with the power, privileges and prerogatives of God, surrendered those things to the Cross, that His authority could rest on His love.

Confession: The thing I hate most about those tipping kiosks popping up everywhere these days is that they work on me. Why? Because in the split second I'm too rushed to find the find-print "no tip" option. Plus I'm self-conscious. I fear other people will think me stingy. Arg!

After the flood, God told humanity they were safe. He covenanted that he would never send another global flood. He even punctuated the promise with a glorious rainbow. But they disbelieved. "Let's make OURSELVES safe!" they said, and built the tower of Babel, trying to reach

When we think of Noah, we think "flood." But the story contains a subplot. Here it is: After the recession of the water, our man planted a garden, grew grapes, made wine, and got drunk. Maybe a little PTSD self-medication? In any case, as Noah lay drunk and naked in his tent,

Of Cain and Abel, Cain seemed like the good one, the plant-based, nonviolent, empath. Abel looked pretty violent by comparison. But he was the one who obeyed God. Fast forward to what seems like later that day. Cain commits the first murder on earth, leaving the "violent" one

Donald Trump in Heaven? Today “President Donald Trump marked the end of Israel’s two-year war in Gaza. Israel celebrated the return of hostages held by Hamas, while joyous crowds met freed Palestinian detainees.” Thus says the Washington Post via email this morning. While

The @adventistchurch is a biblically faithful church. We have a high view of scripture. Among other points, we promote rest on the biblical Sabbath (a view @charliekirk11 held). Interestingly, though, we have fewer restrictions on the ecclesiastical role of women than other

The story of the woman delivered of seven devils, a woman who became Jesus' most steadfast follower, is, among other things, a testament to neuroplasticity, the ability to change. Not only has God built the brain for growth, but He gives His Spirit, Who electrifies the process.

Can people of faith and reason please agree that minors should never have been patrons of gender industry, that this is medical abuse, and that we should have spoken up sooner? In response to the idea that very few experience the regret this young lady is experiencing, a recent

Just cancelled my @netflix due to ethical and moral conflicts. I wish we could purchase films one at a time, but all these subscription services have exclusives. I wish we could vote with our dollars film by film. Any advice for a consumer with moral sensibilities?

I believe in biblically-informed activism. But we must be careful. "Contempt entrepreneurs" are influencers whose entire platform is dedicated to generating division and spite. The business plan works. Hate sells. But contempt is too brittle a vessel for the gospel.

The murder of Charlie Kirk has brought to light: -Relationships too fragile to bear differing views -Willingness of some to rejoice over a fallen enemy -Inability to listen to others' pain Social media doesn't build character, but it reveals it.

Such good advice. We live in a graceless age. The greatest loss is the loss of social generosity. But we can do better. https://t.co/4lLxiHHwYy

This is Janet Perez Eckles-Settles. I sat next to her on a flight, not realizing she was a world-renown motivational and inspirational speaker. I didn't even realize she was blind until the steward asked me to help give her the drink he served. After that exchange, we started

The forgiveness @MrsErikaKirk publicly bestowed upon her husband's murderer was beautiful, pure, and clearly heartfelt. I see no need to warn people that forgiveness takes time. She publicly and beautifully chose to follow the Master Forgiver. Will she have to revisit that

The Christian Nationalism Train The term "Christian Nationalism" has been tossed around a lot lately. What do we mean by this term? I thought I'd share my understanding. Wikipedia defines Christian Nationalism as: "A form of religious nationalism that focuses on promoting

Watching Charlie Kirk's memorial off and on and honestly, like him or not, @TuckerCarlson just preached a heartfelt, humble, timeless, transcendent, non-partisan, unifying, hopeful, straight gospel sermon calling us all to repent.

“Do you want to be made well?” Jesus asked. The lame man said “Sir, I have NO MAN to carry me to the pool.” He had no man. Alone and friendless, he suffered 38 years. Loneliness keeps people sick. The church could heal so many if we’d become experts at friendship.
