Agree. This is a great way to make a difference. I used maps from humanitarian open street map back in 2010 to help transfer patients between healthcare facilities in Haiti. Join the global effort to make a local difference

I did some map validation for the first time in a long time. If you have a few minutes this is a great way to make a difference.

As #HurricaneIan made landfall near Charlotte and Lee counties, reductions in population densities could be detected across the region. Charlotte and Lee saw population reductions between 65% and 74%. These reductions took place a day before the hurricane made landfall.

#datasharing and #disasters. We often assume that sharing and communication ensures the use of data. There is so much more that goes to achieving meaning and value - which is a stronger driver for use. #humdata #qualitativemethods #peoplebeforedata

Differential privacy is the application of statistical noise in systematic ways to datasets which contain individual information so that they can be analyzed and shared without risk of reidentificstion. @nish_epi explains how this applies to epidemics and disasters.

The war in #Ukraine is far from the only one happening today where large numbers of people have been displaced. We need to show support for everyone who has been forced to flee their homes due to conflict or disaster. #Refugees #IDPs #ForcedDisplacement
