Yesterday I administered oaths of office to Democratic members of the Ohio Senate for the 136th General Assembly. Incredible to think this is where I started after college during the 112th General Assembly in 1978, when governor and lieutenant governor were separately elected.

Last day of early voting in Ohio and the line at the Franklin County Board of Elections is insane - it’s backed around itself multiple times. I have been covering early voting since Ohio started it in 2005 and I’ve never seen anything close to this

"Issue 1's backers are telling voters to read the full amendment before voting, . not the ballot summary wording" that Justice Brunner wrote "is perhaps the most stunningly stilted ballot language that Ohio voters will have ever seen."

Opponents of Ohio's Issue 1 say the ballot language is fair and accurate, but backers of the redistricting amendment say the wording is confusing to voters.

From Brent Larkin @PlainDealerNews who reminds people that "the ballot for state Supreme Court and Court of Appeals candidates also list the candidates’ political affiliation" in the 2024 general election.
