We’re not guaranteed that the removed ivar is the last one, and so can’t just re-use the last index (which is what we’d do if we decremented iv_count). For example:

Also, I got a question about iv_count on the undef shape a few times, so wanted to answer it here if anyone is curious! Yes, it was intentional that iv_count didn’t decrement on undef shapes. iv_count is used as an index into the object’s instance variable array . .

The hope with doing this was that each keynote speaker would get the praise / attention they deserve. One keynote in and already seems to be panning out!. Maybe we should do this style release for non keynote speakers too??.
