Yesterday we heard the tragic news that Ali Hussein Jaloud has died, aged just 21.
Be sure Ali, your death will not be in vain. The greedy reign of fossil fuels will end.
I feel lucky to have known you and witnessed your generosity and bravery.
Rest in peace ❤️

“Ali Hussein Jalood, the brave boy who played the main role in the BBC documentary “Under Poisoned Skies” passed away today!
Ali died, from being poisoned by the smoke from flares which surrounded his home in every direction.
Ali died, after cancer graced his body mercilessly, Ali died, without being extended a helping hand or humanitarian compassion. Ali died to join the hundreds of child victims who preceded him to their God complaining of human greed, indifference and bitter human ingratitude.
Ali died to carry the banner of environmental injustice and death as a shield over this devastated land.
Be sure, Ali, that your death will become a public opinion issue to stop this suffering and recklessness of human self.
Sleep in peace Ali, you are now free of pain and silent suffering. May your soul live like a free bird flying among the gardens of bliss under the heavens of a merciful God.
To God we belong and to him shall we return.”
