Problem-solving with AI made me realize how often my brain runs a sub-process on how others will receive my ideas. It's freeing to shut that off and focus 100% on the problem.

Effective strategies are often insanely simple, and that's partly what makes them so challenging to create.

While working on my first startup, I often felt overwhelmed or lazy when I considered all the things I needed to do to make something successful. I looked for ways to cut corners. Now, I feel a little sick when I think about cutting corners. I've learned the hard way how much.

So tax incentives are stupid for chip-making but a brilliant idea for ship-making? 🤔.

Grok and o1 Pro deliver similar results across many tasks, but Grok is much faster. That's the big difference I'm seeing right now.

Deep Research is astonishing. The feedback I would give it if it were a new hire: write more succinctly and from a top-down perspective.

If one of the lessons from the USAID revelations is that sacred work is a strong shield for hiding grift, imagine what you'd find with the same level of transparency in defense spending.

Life lesson:. Talk less. Most people cannot deliver an engaging monologue, especially off the cuff. Relevant lesson for sales, team meetings, podcasts, conversations, problem-solving, and more.

Sora is fun. It still feels like a toy, but I imagine it will soon become a real creator tool.

Two thoughts on BYU football after Colorado game:. 1. Watching that dominant win vs. some of the 1st round playoff games, it's hard to argue that BYU couldn't have done better than Illinois, SMU, and maybe Clemson. 2. The worst part of this season is that 11 wins mean Roderick.

The one-way, two-way door framework is almost always better applied to removing or not doing things. It can lead you into trouble when applying it to doing things because the cost of coming back through the door is often severely underestimated.
