Resident interview season is here, a favorite time of year. How can we address the projected 30% shortfall of ophthalmologists by 2035? We will be applying to increase our residency class for future match cycles.

Sending a warm welcome to Dr. Natalie Oberer as she joins the Moran Eye Center! She is a comprehensive optometrist with advanced training in low vision, dry eye management, and specialty contact lenses, and will be an incredible addition to our team.

I am heartbroken to hear of Jane Goodall's passing. In February 2019, I had the pleasure of my life meeting her. She was telling stories in the Kilimanjaro airport, with her famous monkey, Mr. H, in tow. Thank you, Jane, for your commitment to making the world a better place.

I'm happy to welcome Dr. Christopher D. Conrady back to Moran! He is not only an expert in caring for complex retinal and inflammatory eye conditions, but he’s also a passionate teacher and researcher. We’re lucky to have him on our team, and our patients are in great hands!

Excited to welcome Dr. Matthew Weed to the Moran Eye Center! A Salt Lake City native, Dr. Weed is returning home to care for kids and families across the Mountain West. His expertise and passion for personalized care make him an incredible addition to our team.

I’m honored to share some exciting news: the Moran Eye Center has ranked No. 9 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report in its 25/26 Best Hospitals for Ophthalmology. This is our fourth year in a row in the Top 10, and it reminds me of what makes Moran so special: our people.
