When asked to name a famous living Asian American, 26% of those surveyed said, "I don't know." The next most popular answer (12%) was Jackie Chan, who isn't American. Third (6%): Bruce Lee, who is dead.

A new study found that the most popular choices for famous Asian Americans were Jackie Chan (who is not American), Bruce Lee (who died 50 years ago) and VP Kamala Harris.

May I and all I love never do anything to deserve a destruction as precise, cutting, thorough, and brutal as this one.
One of the strange things about today's political cleavage around gender rights (and here, intersecting with racism) is how many of the proponents of traditional masculinity do not even follow their ideals. Let's look at how James dresses 🧵.

Capital punishment is a marker of a culture of death. School shootings are markers of a culture of death. Doubling down on capital punishment will not solve the uniquely American problem of mass school shootings.
We need to consider an automatic death penalty for school shooters. Life in prison is not enough for the deranged monsters who go into our schools to kill innocent kids & educators. Pray for all facing the unimaginable in Nashville. This is horrible & must stop.

Blackburn belongs to a PCA church—same denom as the school where today's murders happened. Among her own congregation's stated values: "We will seek to be good neighbors in every place, inside and outside of our homes." . What if being good neighbors means repentance on guns?.
Chuck & I are heartbroken to hear about the shooting at Covenant School in Nashville. My office is in contact with federal, state, & local officials, & we stand ready to assist. Thank you to the first responders working on site. Please join us in prayer for those affected.

It’s been an honor to have my words appear (very occasionally) in the New York Times. And I’m grateful for the opportunity to add my name to this letter in support of our trans, non-binary, and gender-nonconforming siblings.
180 (and counting) past and present New York Times contributors have signed an open letter to the paper’s standards editor condemning the ongoing unethical anti-trans bias in its coverage of trans, non-binary and gender nonconforming people. Read it here

@facebook I opened a chat with user support on FB. Someone named Conor told me, "You will need to review our Community Standards above to determine the cause of your suspension." LOL. OK. I filed my appeal, did what the machine told me to do, and we'll see. But as I said, it's curious.
