For decades the tobacco industry hid the lethality of their products. It is just a replay that for decades the oil and coal industries have hidden the danger of their’s. It is time for them to fess up, as this law requires. https://t.co/S2DzFdW1CW

Trump’s attack on American’s access to clean energy is so bad, even Republicans are calling it out for what it is, a job killing, electricity price increasing, boneheaded mistake.

Have you noticed the incredible frequency of flash floods this summer? The scientific community has. It’s a bad summer for a president to be doing everything he can to retard the clean energy growth required to defeat climate change.

Having worked in Congress to fund the Incredible science coming out of the LIGO facility, it is maddening that what Einstein predicted, gravity waves, Trump wants to leave unobserved with the confidence this unbelievably complex science requires. https://t.co/2QLoWoQcdh

Trump is now trying to hide both the Epstein files and the climate change files. The first may not threaten human civilization, the latter does. Trump administration says it won't publish major climate change reports on NASA website as promised https://t.co/GZdiU6DwEC

You won’t hear about this fire in my area while flash flooding sweeps multiple states, but it is notable because it is in western Washington, the -previously- wet side. Floods. Fires. No places are safe from climate change now, not a hundred years later.

The sirens are blaring, warning us of more flash flooding, and grief itself cannot blind us to this reality. We need more than grief, we need action against the fundamental cause of increasing disasters.

As flash floods ravage multiple states we all have inarguable warnings that intense precipitation events are increasing because for every 1 degree C increase, air can hold 7% more water. More climate change, more floods.

Marjorie Taylor Green is right in saying that someone is changing the weather. It’s the fossil fuel companies. Bigly.

Pollution from burning fossil fuels causes acidification of the oceans, which can destroy oysters. If you like oysters, you should hate the Republican’s big ugly, oyster killing bill, as it strips the nation of our protections against this threat. https://t.co/F2kWXJuX14

What is beyond dispute is that Congress is understaffed with legislators who know that climate change is increasing the frequency of intense precipitation events. Ignoring science at the behest the fossil fuels industry is deadly.

It is hard to make the Texas flood tragedy worse, except to know that on the same day Trump signed a bill cratering solar and wind energy that is vital in the battle against the climate change making these torrential rains more frequent.
