State Sen. Art Haywood is calling for the Pa. Senate to investigate Sen. Doug Mastriano’s conduct in connection to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election.
Quantum Communications, a Harrisburg lobbying firm, currently employs two of the unnamed “fake electors” from Pennsylvania mentioned in the Trump indictment last night.
They are CEO Charlie Gerow and Managing Director Kevin Harley, a Lancaster County resident.
State Rep. David Zimmerman (R-East Earl) was seen in the Capitol today praying alongside Abby Abildness, who is connected to the New Apostolic Reformation Movement.
After making that remark, Baker insisted that the reporter treat it as off the record. When the reporter declined, he became angry and yelled at the reporter as at least two other individuals observed.
The project had us reach out to all 253 PA state lawmakers through phone calls and emails, but a fraction of them responded to our inquiry.
We’re both proud of how it came out and I hope you can give it a read!
Folk, it's that time of year again! The Pennsylvania Legislative Correspondents' Association internship program is now accepting applications for summer 2024. Come learn how to hold lawmakers accountable in this PAID opportunity for a college journalist!
State Sen. Doug Mastriano, state Rep. Dave Zimmerman and several faith leaders met with Christian dominionist activist Sean Feucht in Harrisburg on Wednesday to discuss promoting a prayer rally in Harrisburg ahead of this year's general election.
Three Lancaster County Republicans last week voted against a bipartisan bill to crack down on the railroad industry in the state House of Representatives.
He held a press conference in Harrisburg on Tuesday, characterizing Mastriano’s conduct as a “coup attempt.”
Haywood said he will file an ethics complaint this week against Mastriano.

State Rep. Bryan Cutler’s challenger in the April Republican primary says he doesn’t plan to give up his campaign despite winning almost no support from local GOP officials.
The private school voucher program will come to another vote in the Republican-led state Senate during the Aug. 30 voting session, according to Sen. Ryan Aument (R-Lancaster County).
Cutler received an additional $38,000 from the House Republican Campaign Committee on Saturday, according to the 24-hour reports.
I'm writing a full campaign finance story on this race today. Stay tuned...
We are still waiting on full state legislative campaign finance reports, but House Minority Leader Bryan Cutler (R., Lancaster) received $94,000 from the caucus' campaign arm Tuesday, just after the reporting period closed in his primary against a conservative challenger.
BREAKING: Cutler has effectively declared himself the winner at his campaign watch party.
He told LNP:
“I think the voters spoke very clearly, this job's always been about service... and I think they recognize the service that we provide in the community so I'm very happy.”
This does not mean they’re closed because of the indictment, the Legislature is not in session and many lawmakers are back in their districts. Still, no one has returned repeated calls and their voicemail inbox is full.
I went to the firm’s Harrisburg office, only a few blocks from Pennsylvania’s Capitol building, to ask them some questions about the indictment. No one seemed to be in the building.
Though state Rep. Bryan Cutler has years of experience debating legislation on the floor of the Pa. House of Representatives, he’s never debated a primary opponent.
When he’s not sitting in committee hearings or casting votes on the floor of the Pa. House, Tom Jones pursues an unusual passion that few of his constituents know about: He rescues alligators.
Why the fundraising race matters:
@Lawrence
: "The Biden-Harris fundraising advantage today allowed the Biden-Harris campaign to open a field office in Lancaster, PA - It is the first time that there will be a Democratic field office in Lancaster for a presidential election."
The Lancaster Barnstormers are the state Senate’s special guests for today’s session.

Rep. Izzy Smith-Wade-El (D-Lancaster City) spoke at a press event in the Capitol today for public school education.
“It is time to stop picking winners and losers,” he said. “Stop trying to out think the problem and simply do what it is we need to do.”

Artificial intelligence has captured the public’s attention, but Pennsylvania’s Legislature has not acted to regulate the technology, despite many lawmakers saying they’re worried about its potential for misuse.
