I tried this morning to push Source Engine water to a new level (stock shaders) and came up with this. Amazing to see this can be done in tech from 2004. Valve's material system was insanely ahead of its time.

Intrigued by a Navy building from the 40s. It had an absolutely mammoth 4-storey bathroom with 230 toilets, 98 urinals, 65 washing stations! Each of the 4 floors was connected by ramps. 3 floors were filled only with washing stations. It felt liminal, so I made it in 3d.

I did this the wrong way around, and whilst it's possible to build a game from it, it's like building the concrete slab under the house last instead of the other way around- a lotta work and tonnes of re-organisation. Build the pretty on top of the gameplay!
I wish I took more screenshots of the city when I first started this project, but it's come a long way!

Two versions of the same map. Which style do you prefer for AMYGDALA: Prelude?. On one hand I want the game to be artistically interesting, but I also want it to be spooky and atmospheric. [Poll in replies]

I was having a (very!) painful day and then a guy at the checkout paid for my groceries. Incredible to think how much an act of kindness can help. Stuff like this only makes me want to do more things for others, you might be digging someone out of a huge hole with a small act.

I often have this overwhelming desire to find, reach out to and apologise to people I was unfair to, or just simply annoyed a long time ago. The things that some brush off as just general walk-of-life stupidity, I seem to carry with me like weight.

Things have been going well on AMYGDALA: Prelude! I'm super excited to say that it is closer to a full release this year! A lot of love has gone into this and I hope people enjoy the released game.
