While it first appeared on the transaction page last month and has been floating around social media since then, Daichi Moriki has finally arrived in Peoria and has been activated. He'll be a fascinating story to watch this year.
Sports Hochi reports that fomer Hanshin Tigers 1st round pick Daichi Moriki may land a minors deal with the San Diego Padres. Moriki made 2 NPB starts in 2022. He posted a 13.81 ERA in 14 games on the farm in 2025 and was released. https://t.co/WNxzkfvsrN

Good article. Spent a lot of time thinking about the lineup over the past week. The one thing I'm sure of is this team has good to great options up & down the lineup. They scored 702 runs last year, bet they easily score over 750 this year. The most runs the Padres have scored

He still has very little idea where it's going but Triston McKenzie was touching 99 today with 20 inches of IVB and 6 inches of cut, and man if he can harness that even a little bit...

Walker Buehler, who had his second Tommy John surgery in August 2022, said that after trying a variety of treatments, vitamins and supplements, his elbow “just stopped hurting” about four weeks ago.
Joe Musgrove checked off an important box today, pitching in an exhibition 17 months after undergoing Tommy John surgery. There's still a ways to go. "I've talked to a lot of guys that say they don't feel back to themselves until about that two-year mark."

Jake Cronenworth -- who has never hit an opposite-field home run in his entire Major League career (seriously) -- just went oppo onto the left-center-field berm.
