Today there is only one person whose actions you can control, whose emotions you can manage and whose destiny you can help determine--it is you. Don't undervalue this great responsibility today.

“The assumption of spirituality is that always God is doing something before I know it. So the task is not to get God to do something I think needs to be done, but to become aware of what God is doing so that I can respond to it and participate and take delight in it.” -Peterson

When someone “blows their top” over something insignificant, it is often because they have endured something greater that remains unspoken.

One of the most selfish things we do as people is refusing to address our own issues. By denying we have them, we force everyone around us have to deal with them through our actions.

There will never be an evangelism strategy, marketing ploy, or attractional gimmick that can ever replace everyday Christians seeing themselves as missionaries planted by God right where they live, work and play. Attracting religious consumers ≠ multiplying missionaries.

Preachers are like cover bands. Whatever personal texture we might add, the songs are always someone else’s. Our sermons, then, are only worth listening to insofar as they draw out the genius of the original artist.
