My open primaries bill would allow PA's registered independents to vote in the primary election of their choice, increasing turnout & bringing new voices into our democracy. Polling shows more than 7 in 10 PA voters support open primaries — let's make 2025 the year get this done!.
Pennsylvania remains one of the most restrictive states in determining who can participate in primary elections.

During COVID I joined @afscme33 workers on a trash truck. They were professional, took care of my community. We put out our trash and move on — they are there for us picking up syringes poking through bags, rats at every turn. They deserve respect — and higher pay.

PA Senate Education Comm. passed HB 354 by Rep. Jared Solomon. It directs the Dept. of Education to encourage PA students to share their state and U.S. experiences in observance of the 250th birthday of the U.S. PCC supports the measure. Here’s Sen. Greg Rothman. @wgregrothman

My bipartisan anti-blight bill passed the House 132-71! Blighted properties across PA are driving down home values, but often the obstacle for code enforcement is ID-ing the out of state property owners. My bill allows for property contact info lists and provides for penalties.

You cannot relax in your home when the soundtrack of our neighborhoods consists of drag racing. Loud exhaust noise affects property values and degrades air quality. My bill would reduce noise, cut exhaust pollution, and improve Pennsylvanians’ quality of life.
Loud aftermarket exhausts could be a thing of the past in Pennsylvania if the SLEEP Act were to become law.

1.4 million Independent voters in PA provide tax dollars to pay for primaries but have no vote. This must end. We must welcome veterans, young people, and other independents into our democratic process. PA is one of only 10 states with closed primaries. Let’s pass my bill!.

The revitalization of our northeast business corridors has been an important priority of mine since I was elected. The Castor Avenue project will make the corridor safer, brighten it up, replace sidewalks, and improve quality of life for businesses and neighbors.
Plans are in the works to impose a so-called “road diet” on Castor Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia.
