Once upon a time there was a girl who was curious about everything. The more she learned, the less she realised she knew. This made her happy, and a lot more humble. The beginning...

Don't run with the pack It's difficult and lonely to think for oneself in a sea of conformity. It's tempting to want to run with the pack and align your opinions with others for acceptance. Resist that urge, think for yourself, question everything. Be fearless.

Curiosity travels further than ego If we can turn the dial down on our own egos, a real journey of discovery unfolds. You can still be a pretty cool individual while sailing out on an epic and humble adventure to seek knowledge.

Thoughts for thinkers We search for beauty in nature and other’s faces. When it can be found in the most mundane places. With a shift in focus we can appreciate those spaces. Which echo a stark side of life hidden in shadow traces.

A fair amount of what we believe now will probably be proven false in the future. Therefore, don't hold onto ideas too tightly. As is often said, the measure of intelligence is the ability to change.

To discover your core beliefs about life, try this exercise: Imagine you are on your death bed, with an hour left to live. A young relative asks you to share your most important advice to help them in the future. What you tell them are your core beliefs. What do you say?

3. Catch yourself doing it and say softly, stop...and use your name. 4. Do that every time it happens and replace the judgy internal voice with a warm, encouraging one. 5. At the end of the day, see how you feel. Try it again tomorrow. What's your internal voice like?

It's the number 1 skill to develop if you'd like to smooth out a few rough edges in your life. Example: 1. Choose a day, today if you like, and observe the way you talk about yourself. 2. Notice when you put yourself down. Watch for any harsh, critical, internal voices.

Become your own detective and look for clues and stuff. Try a new behaviour and watch the results. If it doesn't work, try another one. Most importantly, let go of emotion and self-judgement, and pay attention to what really makes a difference.

If you are able to dilute your fear of failure you will be surprised by what you can achieve. Reframe failure as feedback and you become a learning machine.

It's good to be back! Hi everyone In April this year I found myself confronted with an unexpected health challenge which meant hospital, surgery and a long convalescence. Although I was very ill, I'm on the mend now and back with some simple truths. Going through something

I've reached 400 followers! Thanks all. I'm happy. In @Schwarzenegger's book on being useful, he writes that the more you focus on being useful to others, the less time you have for self-pity or doubt, and the more impact you create. I'm focused on being useful to you.💙

You shall not pass There aren't many opportunities to be a hero in our comfortable modern age but one of the most heroic things you can do is not perpetuate any family dysfunction to the next generation.

If you often feel angry or irritable, check if what you're really feeling isn't sadness. Anger is a stage in the grief process and many people get stuck there and can't move on.

Comparing yourself to other people is a waste of time. You are on your own journey, a quest that is uniquely yours. You're starting from a different place and going in your own direction.
